Reflection To explain how little I knew before I took this course, I would like to share the very first question I asked, "What is a blog?" I am glad I asked because it immediately established that I knew nothing about the digital culture and yes, I may need extra help. It appears that the narrative has taken on so many new forms with the advances of technology and I was just hanging out in the sunshine, oblivious to it all. As I was introduced to these new mediums, I panicked. Technology stresses me out I can use the internet. After taking this course, I can utilise the internet. I can appreciate a novel. After taking this course, I can appreciate a narrative. I have heard about games. After taking this course, I am tempted to play.
.
I do not understand it. After a day or two of panicking and questioning my decision to enrol in this course, I came to an agreement with myself: I can still enjoy this without understanding how it works. I do not need to understand how, but I can understand why and now I can understand what. I take pleasure in explaining to my what-is-a-blog friends what a hypertext is and how I have been reading an interesting web-log and have you ever played World of Warcraft? The reaction I get is often a stunned mullet type look and then I am laughed at, but I am grateful for my experience. It has been an experience. I am ok with technology now. I need more time to explore, but the difference now is that I want to explore.
